Dining at the Tavern

With so many "box" restaurants out there today, we're proud to offer high quality food served with your individual tastes and budget in mind.

Dine with your family in front of one of our six fireplaces or slide up to the bar in our cozy tavern to catch up with friends. In either setting, we're responsive to your requests and recognize that, with all the choices out there, you chose us.

It's our pleasure and pride to bring you the best casual dining experience in Southern New Hampshire.

Our Menu

We don't mass-produce our menus. They're created from the freshest ingredients, without fryolators and microwaves. Try one of our customer favorite hand-cut steaks with garlic smashed potatoes -- or something new, made fresh from ingredients right off of Portland, Maine's fishing boats.

No matter what you choose, you'll know you're getting high value ingredients prepared with Pinkerton Tavern integrity.

Pinkerton Tavern Favorites

Here's a sampling of what you'll find at the Tavern. Seasonal and special items are also always in the offering as well as our Kid's Menu.

Appetizers

  • Rustic Bruschetta ~ chopped tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, $4
  • Stuffed Portabella Mushroom ~ with our signature seafood stuffing, $7
  • Vegetarian Spring Rolls ~ stuffed with Asian veggies ~ two to an order ~ with our orange ginger sauce, $7
  • Maple mesquite Bacon Wrapped Sea Scallops, brushed with our maple mesquite glaze ~ served over rice, $10
  • Espinaca Dip ~ Tavern Favorite, lightly spiced cheese and spinach dip ~ served with tortilla chips, $8
  • Mozzarella Sticks, with a side of warm marinara, $5
  • Tavern Chicken Tenders ~ with your choice of sauce: Buffalo, BBQ saloon or Orange ginger, $8
  • Creole Crab Cakes, fresh Maine crab meat ~ with just the right amount of “heat.” Pan-seared and served with our honey jalapeno tartar sauce, $7

Old-fashioned Soups (prepared in house with lots of Love)

  • Seafood Slam Chowder, award winning ~ chock full of haddock, scallops, shrimp, and crab: Crock $5, Bowl $7
  • Brewer’s Onion Soup, baked with oversized crouton and cheese: Crock $5, Bowl $7

Salads

  • Tavern Garden Salad, fresh greens and lots of veggies: Small $3, Large $6
  • Tavern Caesar, House made with authentic Caesar dressing: Small $3, Large $6

Tavern Sandwiches

  • Cajun Haddock Bulkie, fresh haddock fillet, oven roasted ~ served with our house honey jalapeno tartar sauce, $9
  • Live Free or Die Burger (Your right to choose), cheese, bacon, sautéed onions, mushrooms, peppers, $9
  • Big Game Burger, buffalo, elk, and ostrich make for one wild burger ~ lean and delicious, $11
  • Garlic Paninis, Tavern roast beef or grilled rainbow veggie, $9
  • Lobster Salad Club, apple smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, manchego cheese, $13

All sandwiches and entrées served with a choice of one side ~ except where noted

  • Chicken Romano , Italian crumbed boneless breast of chicken ~ melted mozzarella ~ served over pasta tossed lightly in Guido's Marinara (no additional side), $14
  • Chicken Guido , Italian crumbed boneless breast of chicken ~ fresh asparagus ~ baked with fresh mozzarella ~ with a roasted red pepper basil cream sauce, $14
  • Chicken El Paso, secret house marinated boneless breast of chicken ~ topped with grilled vegetables ad honey cilantro butter ~ "El Paso" on the carbs (no additional side), $13
  • Tavern Mac and Cheese, baked and served piping hot. Served with Caesar or Tavern garden salad (no additional side), $11
  • Pasta Carbonara, Fettuncine alfredo with proscuitto ~ pancetta, peas, mushrooms (no additional side), $13. Add chicken, $2
  • Lemon Crumbed Haddock, fresh fillet with our light lemon butter crumb topping, $14
  • Maine Coast Combo, fresh haddock fillet and sea scallops baked with our signature seafood stuffing, $17
  • Sicilian Style Haddock, fresh haddock fillet ~ oven roasted with grape tomatoes, minced garlic, lemon, and basil ~ sprinkled with parmesan cheese, $15
  • Flatbread Pizza, changing flavors everyday. Great for dinner or to share as an appetizer, $8
  • Old Towne Pork, variety is the spice of life..., $14
  • Grilled Top Sirloin, brushed with garlic butter ~ available with sautéed onions, peppers, mushrooms, $13. Add lobster $4
  • Signature Grilled Tavern Filet Tips, marinated in dark rum, brown sugar, and molasses, $17
  • East “Meats” West, six ounces of our signature Tavern tips with your choice of one, $16:
    • Lemon crumbed haddock
    • Baked stuffed scallops
    • Creole crab cake
  • Grilled Filet Mignon, served with béarnaise on the side, $19. Add lobster $4
